Education at Debut is designed for artists at different stages of their development - from those looking to build the right foundations, through to experienced tattoo artists wanting to refine their technical ability.

 

Led by Alex Lloyd and hosted at Debut Studios in Shoreditch, our education is focused on practical, honest teaching built around real-world knowledge and experience. Choose the option most relevant to where you are now.

 

SEMINARS

Our group seminars are designed for working tattoo artists who already have a foundation of experience and want to develop their general knowledge alongside other artists in a focused group environment.

 

Seminars combine demonstration, discussion and practical learning around specific areas of tattooing and professional development.

FOUNDATIONS INTENSIVE

Our Foundations Intensive is designed for people at the beginning of their tattooing journey who want to learn in a professional studio environment and build strong foundations from the outset.

 

The 3 day programme covers the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to begin developing as a tattoo artist, progressing from theory and technical understanding through to practical application.

 

Exceptional attendees may be considered for further opportunities with Debut, including the possibility of an apprenticeship where an appropriate position is available. Completion of the intensive does not guarantee an apprenticeship or employment with Debut Studios.

 

1:1 MASTERCLASS

Our private masterclasses are for tattoo artists who can already tattoo but want focused support refining a particular area of their work.

Rather than following a generic curriculum, the session is shaped around the individual artist and the areas they want to improve — whether that's linework, technical application, black packing, consistency, working at a smaller scale or another specific weakness.
